Robots will perform 25% of industrial work by 2025
Robots will proliferate.
Robotics, automation, AI, Block-Chain and a host of other fast emerging and converging technologies are going to change our world and the industrial landscape of our world.
This is a Huge potential opportunity for us all. But...
How can we benefit from this transformation?
We really need to rethink what is it that we should be doing with our lives. We have a certain economic model where people work, and then they get money, and then they can buy the things they need," Kurzweil says.
Whether you agree of disagree with the impact that technology is going to have on our lives over the next 30 years, there is no getting away from it that technology is already impacting us all.
Salim Ismail argues in his book Exponential Organisations that new organisational structures that are able to ride Moor's Law's doubling effect, will rise and disrupt traditional industrial age models as technology increasingly connects the digital world with our analogue world, creating disruption and incredible opportunity.
Technologies such as Mobile phones have reached communities that are still to reap the benefits of the first, second and third revolutions. There are up to 1.3b people without basic needs such as running water, agriculture or tractors, yet many are becoming connected and interconnected with the global community, gaining access to global knowledge via the web, empowering and driving their communities.
"Ultimately, during the AI revolution taking place in the next three years, AIs will be integrated into everything around us, combining sensors and networks and making all systems 'smart.' AIs will push forward the ideas of transparency, of seamless interaction with devices and information, making everything personalised and easy to use." Peter Diamandis
Many global arenas are becoming democratised, driven by technology, easy access and falling costs of application and implementation. The industrialised world is transforming and Robotics, AI, VR and many other elements are disrupting traditional jobs, whilst emerging economies are likely to leap-frog, absorbing and harnessing these opportunities.
We have to ensure that we have the awareness of these changes and the courage to find new opportunities for the human race to transform and flourish.
How do you think we can benefit from this transformation?
